I've been playing with trail food and an improvised jerky drier made out of an old kitchen cabinet.

The results have been better than I hoped for - we shared some out on one of our spring courses and it went down well.

We'll probably run an article in the magazine in the autumn!

Whats your favourite recipe Huw? I like a nice hot jerky so dried chillies usually end up in mine. Teri-yaki marinades also work well. It will be worth experimenting with your drier - I use mine for veg as much as meat, cheap value mushrooms from tesco's work really well and are great for stews and soups.

Good to hear from you!

How's the bow-making?

What sort of a drier do you use?

Bow makings on the back burner for a while - moved house down to high halden earlier in the year so lots of other stuff going on.

Cant remember the make of my drier but its grey, oblong and has six trays
