Some of you attended a day at Sevenoaks in the snow earlier this year.

The warden Paul has been unavailable due to his honeymoon

(No arguing with that excuse) he is now back & keen to have a group up there again.

Bad news is that weekends are in short supply & the crayfish traps are not in the water yet (Paperwork!)

Any interest?

Mike

Hey Mike,

Put me down as interested please!

When are you up for a forage? Time's ticking away tho' and the lean season will be with us soon. Still managing to get some elderflower from the sheltered spots and there's samphire/purslane/sea beet & masses of rocket out on the marshes. Oh, and the cherries are about ready in the hedges round this way too. Fancy a bimble soon?

I can't say that I have yet Huw, would you recommend it? I have a quantity of blossoms that I've been drying to see how well they keep their flavour/aroma but all the rest so far have gone into cordials and wine (oh, and gooseberry jam!).

I shall need to get out with my big basket for the local cherries this week I think, before the birds snaffle the lot.
