It's a bit unusual as it's not a native and I was so surprised to find a specimen growing locally that I've been posting pics of it everywhere!  (apologies if you've seen this before...)

So. Does anyone recognise this? I'm planning on going back to get some more shots and a few samples that I can section for reference. (And just in case, I ought to mention that it's highly toxic so it's best not to mess with this plant if you do find one).

my guess is it is DaturaStramonium. i think this is used by some shamans for journeying. and rightly it is unusual though oddly many moons ago when at secondary school we found some growing on our farm unit

I got to the woods to smooth it not to rough it

Yep, it's Datura (also known as Thorn Apple, or Jimsonweed). It usually sneaks into the UK in seed stocks apparently.
